There are many highly anticipated new cars for 2012 out there. While some of these vehicles will be extremely fast and loaded with lots of extra horsepower, many will be extremely fuel-efficient, saving you gas money. We will still be waiting for the day when we have flying cars like in Back to the Future, but rest assured that these cars are still very futuristic looking.

One of these vehicles people can anticipate is the 2012 Honda Civic. This automobile has a few awesome variants – sedan, coupe, a natural gas powered one, and the go to hybrid vehicles. Honda promises that the fuel economy on these vehicles could be as small as 40 mpg on the highway. This is is extremely exciting, as the price of gas is not going down anytime soon.

Ford’s new Mustang Boss 302is another exciting car to highly anticipate. It is a very powerful car with 444 horsepower. Ford has made several modifications on this automobile including firmer bushings & springs, suspension modifications, adjustable struts & shocks, anti-roll bars that are bigger, and it has stronger brakes. This car has a short throw sixspeed gearbox.

If one is looking for miniature vehicle, look no further than the Toyota Scion, at only 6 1/2 feet long. For its small size, it can still hold four people, although only three adult sized people, with one spot for a car seat. The exterior is extremely cool looking, a combination of sleek and boxy, but with rounded, smooth edges. At only 90 hp, it gets a whopping 50 mpg on the highway.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is a vehicle that packs a powerful punch. This Jeep has a 6.4 liter hemi V-8 that has 500 hp. A frighteningly fast vehicle, it has been reported to have an 8-speed transmission.

Hyundai is putting out a 2012 Veloster. This vehicle is compact, and light, causing it to have great fuel efficiency (40 miles per gallon). They cut down the weight by having three doors instead of four. There’s only one door on the driver side, and a front and back door on the passenger side. It has a sleek, hexagonal look that is futuristic and aesthetic.

The FT-86 sports car is put out by both Toyota and Subaru. The car will have two versions (one for each manufacturer), and will be very light. The Toyota version will be out first, but will be marketed as a Scion FR-S. The Subaru version won’t arrive in the US until mid-2012 at the very soonest, if it comes at all. The horsepower should be around 200 to 250 for both vehicles. It also looks very cute, a sort of sports car meets Battle Star Galactica cylon look.

In January of next year, the 2013 ZL1 will be out. This classically awesome car will pack an extremely high-powered punch, and about 550 HP. Under the hood, you’ll see the Cadillac CTS-V’s 6.2 L V8. This car will definitely be frighteningly fast, most likely able to go from 0 to 60 in less than five seconds. This is one of the many examples of new cars for 2012 that one can look forward to.
